Eating a healthy diet is very important during the COVID-19 pandemic and especially after one had recovered so that the body gets back to its normal at the earliest.
What we eat and drink can affect our body’s ability to prevent, fight and recover from virus. .
This infection should have reduced the appetite and also the sense of taste and smell. Hence the post recovery diet keep all these factors as well as your nutritional needs in mind.
Some suggestions of such diet would be
- Protein-rich diet ( 75-100grams per day) - repair damaged body tissues, make up for the muscle loss that occurred while the infection lasted, boost the immune system and overcome the weakness
- Fresh and seasonal fruits and veggies, as well as nuts and seeds in your diet (5-7 servings/day) -Replenish the vitamins, minerals, polyphenolic compounds, phytochemicals and antioxidants your body needs
- Sunlight (15-20 minutes exposure/day)-Vitamin D
