Does new Moderna's Covid-19 vaccine stop the spread?

Can any one help with this?

Yes, The medical world hope so. Because Moderna said that its experimental mRNA-1273 vaccine appears to be 94.5 per cent effective—more than Pfizer’s and Russia’s Sputnik V.

Moderna, a company that has yet to market a treatment or vaccine, offered compelling evidence that its candidate did more than just prevent symptomatic illness, the key endpoint of both trials. The company reported that 11 people in the placebo arm of the trial had serious cases of COVID-19, compared to none in the vaccinated group.
The vaccine results in broadly consistent protection and efficacy profile for all assessed subgroups. This indicates that the vaccine tends to perform fairly well in all the populations surveyed, including the elderly and ethnic minorities, and in those with preexisting conditions such as diabetes and heart disease that make them particularly vulnerable to severe COVID-19.
