I recently read that researchers believe certain foods might cure Alzheimer’s disease. Is this true?
Yes, research is ongoing on this. There may be a correlation with inflammation and amyloid plaque accumulation in the brain that raises the risk of Alzheimer’s disease. Diet might be a great way to help you battle this. The relationship between diet and brain health, and the actions that we want to change or continue, will influence the health of our brains and the ageing population. A Mediterranean-style diet is one consideration to reduce the risk of Alzheimer disease.

What should I eat? and what diet should I follow ?
Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, 100% whole grains, extra virgin olive oil, nuts, and lean protein. As for the amount, I would say that eating three handfuls of vegetables per day and two handfuls of fruits twice a day is a great start. In addition, 1 to 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil and two servings of fish, such as salmon, per week, would be wonderful.
